About me
Hi, I’m Terezia — a small animal veterinary surgeon with a lifelong passion for animal welfare and behaviour.
Since 2017, I’ve been working as a vet in both general and referral practice. Over time, I found myself increasingly interested in behaviour and wanted to help pets and their caregivers by providing complex care considering physical and mental health.
I currently work full-time as a veterinary behaviourist with Dogs Trust, supporting both rescue and non-rescue dogs with a wide range of behavioural challenges. Alongside this, I see a small number of private behaviour cases and provide advice to vet and non-vet colleagues.
My professional background includes a Veterinary Medicine degree and a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln. I am a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) and Animal Training Instructor (ATI), registered with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). I’m also a Fear Free Certified Professional and a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy in animal training.
I strongly believe that physical and mental health are deeply connected. Pain, illness, and stress can all affect behaviour, just as behavioural struggles can impact physical wellbeing. That’s why I take a holistic, evidence-based approach, considering the full picture to support both mental and physical health.
In all my work, I combine veterinary insight with kind, ethical, and science-based methods. I treat every pet as I would my own—with compassion and empathy—while working closely with you to develop a personalised plan that supports your pet’s wellbeing and your goals. I do not support or use aversive and ‘quick-fix’ techniques that risk causing fear, pain, or intimidation, and can harm the human–animal relationship and cause serious long-term damage.
Away from work, I enjoy time with my rescue dog Cora and my parents’ two turbo-charged cats—each in their own way my greatest teachers.
Whether you’re struggling with your pet’s behaviour or simply want to better understand them, I’m here to help. With years of clinical and behavioural experience, I have the expertise to guide you and your pet towards a happier, more harmonious life together.
